The Technical Department at Torsby Municipality is responsible for, among other things, the municipality's properties, buildings, contracts, energy issues, forest management, water and sewage works, streets and roads, utilities, waste management, and parks.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Technical Department is looking for an environmental engineer with a focus on upstream work. The position is divided 50/50 between water and waste management.

The role includes, among other things:

  • Planning, coordinating, and developing upstream work within water and waste management.
  • Working proactively to reduce emissions of environmentally and health-hazardous substances in the sewage network.
  • Conducting investigations and mapping for both water and waste management.
  • Collaborating with operators regarding chemical management, self-control, and follow-ups.
  • Participating in supervision and information efforts together with the environmental administration and other actors.
  • Monitoring legislation, environmental quality standards, and being responsible for permit and reporting work.
  • Contributing to projects related to circular economy, sludge quality, and sustainable waste management.
  • Participating in communication efforts both towards the public and other departments in the municipality.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A strong interest in the environment and environmental work.
  • A university degree as an environmental engineer or equivalent experience.
  • Good knowledge of environmental legislation, particularly related to water and waste.
  • Experience in upstream work, supervision, water operations, or waste management is an advantage.
  • Experience working with REVAQ is an advantage.
  • The ability to work both independently and in collaboration with others.
  • Good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish.
  • A valid driver's license (B).

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
